Round 13: Themes

RULES:
→ You must have signed up to participate in this round.
→ Icons should be: no more than 40kb, 100x100pixels, not animated & PG-13.
→ Your icons must be new and made specifically for this challenge & they must be yours.
→ Icons can be posted here or linked to at a journal/community of your choice, your post will have to remain public until the round ends.
→ Post 3 teaser icons before the cut or link.
→ The icons must fit your claim.
→ The tagging system? Feel free to use the tags → round: eight, entries: round eleven, participant: yourusername, claim: yourclaim, but either if you tag or not I will be tagging so don't worry too much about it.
→ Please, do try to comment on your fellow icon makers' posts! You missed who posted and who didn't post? You're not feeling up to going back over X number of entries to find that submission? Go to the signed up list, where you will find the completed sets with links to their individual entries in the commmunity.
→ If you need examples or something isn't clear enough ask in the comments, I prefer not to give visual examples so as not to limit your imaginations.
→ Do make sure the entry subject says "Round Thirteen: NameOfYourClaim"
→ The last day to post your icons will be the 22nd.
→ Well, here we are, new year, new experiences and to spice it all up new table for this round only.
→ There are going to be new awards on top of the usual ones. These special awards are explained in the themes, if there's anything about them that is not clear do let me know, but keep in mind that these are 'extra' & a way for me to somehow show the fact I believe you all deserve more awards than the usual but due to the scope of it it's pretty much impossible to make it happen every month.
→ Thank you so much for all the suggestions, I will have to use several of the following themes as round themes due to the amount of possibilities so do look forward to the following months.
THEMES:
-extra awards:colouring; top 3 'vibrant', top 3 'light colours' (opposite vibrant as in light=force of colour, not necessarily 'light' colours) & top 3 B&W (ignores text &/or even accepts 1 dash of colour among b&w)-
01. League → [TV SHOW: SMALLVILLE] Your icon should have one color that is the focus, though other colors are allowed.
02. A&D → [TV SHOW: SUPERNATURAL] Angel &/or demonds - interpret at will.
03. Walter!net → [TV SHOW: FRINGE] In this icon your text must be bi-colour. Two distinct colours in different parts of the text. That's it not having "HELLO JOHN" being white on the top and pink on the lower part. It would have to be for example "HELLO" in white and "JOHN" in pink. The text and colours I used for this example may or may not be used by any of you, there's no fixed text nor fixed colours in this theme.
04. Browncoat → [TV SHOW: FIREFLY] "If you can’t run, you walk. If you can’t walk, you crawl. If you can’t crawl, you find someone to carry you." Friends that become family, brothers in arms, your claim surely has moments in which it's the strength of the many that make it possible for something to happen - show us those moments in which we need more than one single character to reach to the end point (any step of those epic 'moments' is good enough).
05. Toaster → [TV SHOW: BATTLESTAR GALACTICA '03] Any technology, anything related in anyway with technology, have a screwdriver appear even... or you might just use text in reference to such technology i.e. "sad little toaster" (bsg), "beam me up Scotty!" (trek), anything as far as it's either rather obvious or you can explain to us in note somewhere in your post (might be rather good just in case for whatever reason that reference is not as obvious as we might think it is)

06. Horizon → [ANIME: KINO NO TABI] The world is vast, but there's always a point where the sky meets the earth. Let's highlight that point, shall we?
07. Gum Gum Fruit → [ANIME: ONE PIECE] What gives your character his power? What do they eat? Interpret at will.
08. Alchemy → [ANIME: FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST] "Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only truth." <- interpret at will.
09. Zodiac → [ANIME: FAIRY TAIL] Use one of the symbols of the zodiac in a gold or silver colour (any shade of yellow or grey will be accepted). easy link to the symbols
10. Tango → [FILM: CHICAGO] lyrics, listen and/or read those lyrics, whatever they inspire is the icon you must submit here.
-extra awards: top 3 funny icons, top 3 best use of text, top 3 employment of contrast &/or lighting-
11. Minions → [FILM: DEPICABLE ME] Minions, fluffy things, banana, evil minions, papple, anything to be related with this film, want to add one of those minions into your icon, a quote of the film (and extras), just show us someone eating an
12. Astrid → [TV SHOW: FRINGE] Ignore everyone but that amazing sidekick, seriously, show us them. I'm tired of protagonists I want to see who is supposed to be a 'sidekick' but is so amazing that people cannot but love them and be amazed by such characters/people.
13. 3rd flower → [TV SHOW: DOLLHOUSE] Use this layer in the icon, don't change the colours.
14. Vampire → [TV SHOW: BUFFY] Vampire lore, we all know part of it if not more than that, so go ahead and interpret at will.
15. Yoichi → [TV SHOW: EYESHIELD 21] "The ace in the sleeve of the trickster" interpret at will.
CATEGORY: The gods
Associate your claim with 5 Ancient Greek Gods (only the Olympian ones), you pick which ones and the why... go ahead and create your own group of 5 gods. link for greek gods or the wikipedia page.

Date: 2011-04-07 10:53 pm (UTC)plus if we're honest i found weird that niké was separated over there since many times over niké is one of the other 'flag'-names that are used for Athena. And while Leto makes sense due to relationship with Zeus - Themis is puzzling me XD /i hold a weird fascination to ancient history.

Date: 2011-04-08 08:37 am (UTC)It's from Chii's Sweet Home, the most adorable manga ever. If you have time and you like cats (and even if you don't), I'd definitely recommend that you try it! It's very easy and quick to read, and it so cuuuuuute.
