ROUND FIVE: THEMES

RULES:
→ You must have signed up to participate in this round.
→ Icons should be: no more than 40kb, 100x100pixels, not animated & PG-13.
→ Your icons must be new and made specifically for this challenge. They must be yours and not from someone else.
→ Icons can be posted here or linked to at a journal/community of your choice. Posts must remain public until the round ends. Post 3 teaser icons before the cut or link.
→ Icons must fit your claim.
→ The tagging system? If you want to, feel free to tag your own post, if you don't do it I shall, no worries =)
→ Please, do try to comment on your fellow icon makers' posts! Doesn't it feel wonderful when people comment on your own icons? Share the love.
→ If you need examples or something isn't clear enough ask in the comments.
→ make sure the entry subject says "ROUND FIVE: NameOfYourClaim"




THEMES:
01. Monroe → The mentor/influence figure. Add them to your character or if claiming more than a person/character just show us who this figure is.
02. Breakfast Club → The beginning of your claim or when your claim was young.
03. Frame → Your icon inside a frame, that's it, the icon per se must be smaller than the 100x100pixels so as to fill up the surrounding as it were a frame.
04. Microphone → The tongue/mouth should be the attention drawer of your icon.
05. Fear → As the subject says.
06. Religious → or not!? Symbol. Belief. Prayer. Anything goes.
07. Tour → The icon must be about the clothes. From an outrageous costume to your average jeans. Just make sure the clothes are the prominent element.
08. Stripes → Your icon must use this texture (it must be visible in your icon, feel free to change the hue if you so desire) by sara_stc
09. Chair → Sitting down and/or lounging.
10. Black → your icon must be mainly black.

CATEGORY: Madonna's TITLEEOFTHESONG
Make 5 icons of your claim, they all have to have lyrics from the same song. Which song?! That's up to you, but it must be a Madonna song. The icons lyrics can follow the preceding icon's lyric or it can be bits from here and there without any order per se. You will have to change the name of the Category to your song's title. No other text in these icons but those from the lyrics of the song of your choice. I'm not setting any min. or max. in regards to how many words per icon be as original as you want.

ARTIST'S CHOICE:
The last remaining 5 icons are for you to do what you want with them (as the name indicates, it's your choice!).

Though, I am not familiar with Madonna's songs at all. I'm going to have to search those down.

Me too actually, because Madonna's AFTER the time I stopped listening to popular music back in the early 80s :-) I didn't start again until I fell into bandom and even back then I mostly listened to English punk and new wave. Madonna was completely out of my sphere of interest if she even was active that early?

'82 was her first single debut but I think her first more famous songs came closer to the mid 80s

I'm twenty-four (born in 1986) , so I don't know if that puts me as too young or not, but personally, I'm also the kind of person who is a bit pop-culture deprived.

I'm that age myself, although from '85 ;) So, we shall have to agree is difference in our musical upbringing, which is not bad per se. At least you've managed to make me stop like I'm WAY too old ;) & it makes me have to ask for you to rec me some singers/bands since I'm obviously going to be lacking in what you know and thus there's now a new world opening to my ears. /corny, but srsly, just recc me some music =)

okay I just checked your profile, we both are from '85 (if you did not lie there XD), although I am from late September.

IDK, maybe it falls down to what those around listened to? IDK, it kind of makes me ponder are you pondering what I'm pondering? if something in my life would be different if I wasn't really aware of Madonna's songs. Other than that I would have not done this Madonna round, it's hard to imagine what would be different.

edit. of course I guess being aware of Madonna or not is pretty much as being as aware of Trek/Wars/Indiana Jones/etc. stuff that might be obvious elements to some might not have entered other's youth. (not that I liked trek when I was a kid, or *that* much nowadays... but they had K. Urban in the last film ;))

Okay for stripes you say we are allowed to change the hue, does that include converting it to greyscale?

that would be a lack of saturation more than a change of hue - and I kind of picked this layer 'cause the differences in colours make it harder.
