RULES:
→ You must have signed up to participate in this round.
→ Due to the difference in time zones I will allow icons handed by your midnight time zone and not just by mine. Do let me know if you think due to any reason that you won't be able to hand them on the 20th but early during the 21st, that I will accept. But remember to contact me or I will assume that due to unforeseen reasons you were unable to finish them and thus your icons won't make it into the voting.
→ Icons should be: no more than 40kb, 100x100pixels, not animated & PG-13.
→ Your icons must be new and made specifically for this challenge. They must be yours and not from someone else.
→ Icons can be posted here or linked to at a journal/community of your choice. Posts must remain public until the round ends.
→ Icons must fit your claim.
→ At least for this round I will be tagging your posts so don't worry about that ;)
→ If you would like a participation banner, please say so in either your post to this community or the post with your icon table.
→ Post 3 teaser icons before the cut or link.
→ Please, try to comment on your fellow icon makers' posts!
→ If you need examples or something isn't clear enough (more than likely), ask in the comments here.
→ entry titles, make sure it says "ROUND ONE: NameOfYourClaim"
THEMES:
01. Bowl of Petunias → Shape icon, give your icon any shape. You can either do so by changing the icon format from 100x100 to any other smaller variation (since 100x100 is the maximum) or by having any shape in the icon, any size but the shape must be defining and filling in the rest of 'blank' space with a colour so it fits up to 100x100, your choice really. Run wild with any 'shape'.
02. The Mice → Zoom your eyes into the details that mean so much and we might not focus on otherwise. A warrior holding a weapon, a pointed finger directing our sight to the horizon, eyes being the window to the soul, a necklace,... Make those cropping skills work on focusing into a part of your claim.
03. GPP → Genuine People Personalities. Show us your claim in an extreme case of unaltered happiness, be it big cheshire smiles or laughing, be happy!
04. Space → The space is a very big place, this icon requires a lot of negative space. Show us your claim in less than 50% of the icon.
05. Dolphins → Song Time Text. Add some lyrics to your text (3 words long) or the full title of any song.
06. Vogosphere → Reading, writing, paper, pens&pencils... Interpret at will, want to show your claim working hard in pencilling a novel? Want to use a brush that has writing implements? Put your claim as main image of a mini(100x100)!newspaper?
07. Zaphod → Show your claim in a self-indulgent fashion, that's it to say, show us your claim. This theme is basically a 'show off' of your claims, make it as neat as possible without many brushes/layers that distort the claim, you may use brushes&layers as you see fit but the importance is to show of your claim making them show up as clear as possible.
08. Mostly Harmless → The character(s)' full body must appear in the icon. As far as one character's full body is recognizable you may do as you wish with the other characters in the icon.
09. Dish of the Day → Your claim drinking and/or eating. Food &/or drinks might be in your icon either directly being eaten or simply 'there' as it is.
10. Babel Fish → This is your hush icon, no text allowed at all in this icon.
CATEGORY: Magrathea
The main element of this category is to show some colours. There are multiple ways of doing this, you can mix them all or keep a constant in your category set, do as you feel inclined. But each icon must focus on one single colour, there's no limiting in which colours you use, only that each icon has a different colour (if you want to use light shade of {blue} and a dark shade in another it will be accepted but they can't all be {blue} shades). You may make your icons b&w and then add some colour through text, part of the original image or a colour based background. You may also have the great part of your icon being from one colour (other colours may be seen, but that one colour must be the main 'visible' one).
If you want feel free to change the text {Category #1} for the colour that icon focuses on. There are 5 icons in the category.
ARTIST'S CHOICE:
Make 5 icons of your choice, anything goes as far as it fits your claim.
