Round 14: Themes

RULES:
→ You must have signed up to participate in this round.
→ Icons should be: no more than 40kb, 100x100pixels, not animated & PG-13.
→ Your icons must be new and made specifically for this challenge & they must be yours.
→ Icons can be posted here or linked to at a journal/community of your choice, your post will have to remain public until the round ends.
→ Post 3 teaser icons before the cut or link.
→ The icons must fit your claim.
→ Please tag your posts with the following tags round: fourteen, entries: round fourteen, participant: yourusername, claim: yourclaim. But I will tag if you forgot or couldn't use any specific tag.
→ Please, do try to comment on your fellow icon makers' posts! You missed who posted and who didn't post? You're not feeling up to going back over X number of entries to find that submission? Go to the signed up list, where you will find the completed sets with links to their individual entries in the commmunity.
→ If you need examples or something isn't clear enough ask in the comments, I prefer not to give visual examples so as not to limit your imagination.

THEMES:
01. Country → The focus of this icon should be on scenery of some sort.
02. Birds → "Whenever people see birds flying through the sky, it's said that they get the urge to go on a journey." Show an inspiration, something that spurs characters to do what they do.
03. Persuader → Focus on weaponry/firearms.
04. Beautiful → What makes the world worth fighting for/protecting/living in?
05. Nimya → Focus must be on the top of your icon.
06. Sakura → Make an icon of a character in danger.
07. Journey → This icon should have a foreground and a background (one must be blurry). [foregroud&background as in "depth", i.e. one character closer and another on the back of the image]
08. Shishou → Interpret the concept of time in your icon somehow.
09. Kino → This icon should show glasses of some kind. A character wearing them is not required, they might be holding them or looking at them, etc.
10. Traveler → This icon should have an exclamation mark (!) in it, you may have more text or not, that's up to you. But the exclamation mark is required.


CATEGORY: Blue Sky.
Focus on skies, all the different kinds. There is no such thing as a true blue sky, after all.

The last remaining 5 icons are for you to do what you want with them (as the name indicates, it's your choice!).

I just have to say that Kino is the first time I've ever had a prompt that was so absolutely perfect and easy for my claim. *grins*

By contrast, that theme is a nightmare for me! (I'm absolutely not complaining, I'll figure something out and enjoy the challenge of doing so, but our completely different perspectives amused me x) )

For the most part, though, these themes work just wonderfully for me. v. excite~

I've tended to pick some claims that've been really hard on some of the past themes, so I'm excited to have one that's relatively easy for once. Now if I can just win against the horrible lighting of my claim, everything will be brilliant.

Oh, my Kino is just full of decisions. I claimed Potter... there are a million and one options! The real trick is going to be making it interesting and not just oh LOOK Harry is wearing glasses! But I've got some thoughts on that.

I've really been strapped for time lately. orz I spend most of my days away from the computer, and the time I actually get at the computer, I'm usually too brain dead to work on anything.

the sky may be any colour! it can be dark night - the blue sky is the name of the category but if you want to do dark and dark and even darker? you still may (i like dark skies /sidecomment), but srsly the category is to show us any sky at all =) or any interpretation of sky that you may come up with >;)

I know! I just hope they even show the night sky. From what I recall, most of the shots were filmed looking down at the characters or at their eye level, and not looking up to the skies.
Oh well, time to rewatch the movie!

I'd just like to hand in a formal resignation from this round. A lot of bad circumstances have cropped up and I really can't work RL icons to save my life, so better to withdraw my four complete icons than to subject you all to shoddy workmanship.

No idea if this is the right place for this. /carries on
